I tried so hard
And got so far

I am Yagami Light, undefeated and accepted into the bosom of the shinigami realm.

If it isn’t Hell, it’s doing a great job imitating it; my limbs, skin and spinal cord, they shift and mutate. I can feel it happening already, the mortal flesh cracking and hardening, turning grey and leathery like some kind of reptile out of water. Rancid, the smell, if I don’t wash it off regularly - it’ll start splitting soon, the muscle, and then what will I do if I can’t traverse the endless damned Nowhere that is eternity? I won’t curl up and let this future take control over me.

I am Yagami Light and I am god and I am greater than inevitability! I will force it down. I will accept fate at my own rate. I am truth and justice and I wish my leg would stop itching like that, it looks so weird when I need to scratch in public.

Let the gods of death await me in anticipation.
